Back to work

Well, my honeymoon with Penelope had to end at some point. Now, it's time for me to go back to work, while Katie and her mom look after Penelope. Unfortunately for me, Penelope has just started to get more interesting. She has moved past just sleeping, eating, and diapering to being more alert and awake. She's starting to do a better job of looking at things, and her facial expressions have become more interesting. She even smiled at me, although I'm pretty sure this was not intentional. There are some downsides to a more active Penelope. It's much harder to just wrap her up and put her down to sleep, since she wants to be held a lot. Luckily, with three of us, not everyone has to be "on duty" at the same time. And, with me going to work during the day, I've picked up the evening shift. But, as much as I found it kind of boring to sit around the house all day while Penelope slept the first weeks of her life away, I do miss not being there now. At least it makes the time I do get to spend with her in the evenings more special.
