Old man Penelope

You know what they say about old age being a lot like infancy? Well, no one warned me that the reverse is true. Penelope has recently entered the grunting phase. Sometimes, you would think we were running a nursing home. The sounds are hard to describe, but I never knew a baby could make them. Sometimes they sound like animal noises, but a lot of the time they sound like cranky old men who are upset at the world. They seem to be a new part of her sleeping routine, and frequently they are accompanied by intense stretching sessions.

Stumpy

It's OFF! Yesterday, Penelope's umbilical cord stump fell off. It was, of course, anti-climactic. Katie found it floating in her onesie. There are still a few bits of it stuck in her belly button, but the big chunk is gone. It kind of looks like jerky.
